A quest for a good cup of coffee started us down the path to The Phoebus Coffee House.   “A person shouldn’t have to learn another language - even if it's made up - to order a cup of coffee”, says Anne W. Doop, proprietor of The Phoebus Coffee House.  It shouldn’t cost five bucks either.

But why Phoebus?

Well, Anne comes from a family with deep roots in Phoebus.  For her, this town once held everything one could want. 

“I remember standing on the corner of Hope and Mellen, holding my grandmother’s hand.  I looked up and down the street and said to her, 'why would anyone ever want to leave Phoebus?  We have everything we need right here.'" 

We like to think The Phoebus Coffee House will bring that feeling back to this part of Hampton.
